MP Qassem Hashem stressed the need to approve a new election law, noting, in an interview with the Voice of Lebanon 93.3 radio station, that these two weeks are crucial.
Tackling the new law formula, Hashem reiterated Speaker Berri and the Amal movement's support for the mixed law, stressing the need to take into account the rules of conviviality and national cohesion.
Warning against proposals built on confessional and sectarian grounds, Hashem said "any law that gets the approval of all parties will certainly be better than having to resort back to the 60s law."
