Twenty people died and 56 others were injured across the country following heavy rainfall during the last 48 hours, a Civil Protection statement said Sunday, reporting 19 road accidents and 4019 interventions. The heavier toll was recorded in the provinces of Tebessa (3 deaths in the town of Malbiodh), Tlemcen (3 deaths in the town of Remchi) and M'sila (3 deaths in the town of Boussaada), the same source reported by Algerian press service as saying. One person also died, struck by lightning in the locality of Oued el Alleug in Blida or stormwater infiltrated in 21 informal settlements located in the industrial zone of Ben Boulaid. In the province of Tipaza an exterior wall of a house, near the Bousmail clinic collapsed, causing minor injuries to a person.
