HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al -Thani held this evening a telephone conversation with the Head of the Political Bureau of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) Dr. Ismail Haniyeh.
At the beginning of the call, the Head of the Political Bureau of Hamas briefed HH the Emir on the results of the reconciliation agreement concluded between Fatah and Hamas movements. He lauded Qatar’s continued support for the Palestinian cause, Qatar’s role in reconstructing the besieged Strip, as well as its valuable efforts to push the Palestinian parties to end the Palestinian division, reconciliation and unity in the face of the Zionist entity.
For his part, HH the Emir expressed Qatar’s welcome for the reconciliation agreement between Fatah and Hamas for the good of the brotherly Palestinian people. HH the Emir reiterated Qatar’s firm support for the Palestinian people until they achieve their legitimate rights and establish their independent State with East Jerusalem as its capital. (QNA)
