His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said today issued six Royal Decrees as follows:
Royal Decree No. 21/2017 promulgates the Animal Welfare Law after it had been presented before the Council of Oman (Majlis Oman).
Article (1) stipulates that the provisions of the Animal Welfare Law, attached to this decree, shall be enforced.
Article (2) says that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette.
Royal Decree No. 22/2017 promulgates the Law on Practising Veterinarian Professions after it had been presented before the Council of Oman (Majlis Oman).
Article (1) stipulates that the provisions of the Law on Practising Veterinarian Professions, attached to this decree, shall be enforced.
Article (2) says that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette.
Royal Decree No. 23/2017 amends some of the provisions of Royal Decree No. 48/2004 on the establishment of the Agricultural and Fisheries Development Fund and promulgation of its system (bylaw).
Article (1) stipulates that the provisions of the system (bylaw) attached to this decree shall apply to the Agricultural and Fisheries Development Fund.
Article (2) replaces the text of the Second Article of Royal Decree No. 48/2004 by the following text: “The Fund shall be supervised by the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries.”
Article (3) cancels the Agricultural and Fisheries Development Fund’s system (bylaw) attached to Royal Decree No. 48/2004, and also cancels all that contravenes with this decree and the system attached to it and all that contradicts with their provisions.
Article (4) says that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced with effect from the day following its date of publishing.
Royal Decree No. 24/2017 declares the project to implement the Fourth Batch of the Haima-Thumrait railway as a public utility project.
Article (1) declares the project to implement the Fourth phase (first package) of the Haima-Thumrait railway, which connects the Wilayat of Haima in the Governorate of Al Wusta and the Wilayat of Thumrait in the Governorate of Dhofar, as specified in the memo and diagram attached to this decree, as a public utility project.
Article (2) stipulates that the departments concerned may expropriate, through direct implementation, the properties and lands necessary for the aforementioned project, along with all the installations therein, in accordance with provisions of the Public Utility Expropriation Law promulgated by Royal Decree No. 64/78.
Article (3) says that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced on its date of issue.
Royal Decree No. 25/2017 declares the project to upgrade the efficiency of the Al Rusayl-Nizwa road from Al Sahwa Tower’s roundabout to the Bidbid-Sur junction as a public utility project.
Article (1) declares the project to upgrade the efficiency of the Al Rusayl-Nizwa road from Al Sahwa Tower’s roundabout to the Bidbid-Sur junction, as specified in the memo and diagram attached to this decree, as a public utility project.
Article (2) stipulates that the departments concerned may expropriate, through direct implementation, the properties and lands necessary for the aforementioned project, along with all the installations therein, in accordance with provisions of the Public Utility Expropriation Law promulgated by Royal Decree No. 64/78.
Article (3) says that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced on its date of issue.
Royal Decree No. 26/2017 appoints a chairman for Oman Human Rights Commission.
Article (1) states that Honorable Sheikh Abdullah bin Shuwain bin A'mer Al Hosni as Chairman of Oman Human Rights Commission (OHRC).
Article (2) says that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced on its date of issue.
