Deputy Kamel Rifai called on MPs on Thursday to approve a new electoral law that represents the Lebanese away from sectarian quotas, adding that the proportional system, at the level of the province or Lebanon as one district, is the most appropriate.
"In case of failure to approve the proportionality law, then implementing the Taef Accord will be the best solution," the MP told the "Voice of Lebanon" radio.
Commenting on the possibility of approval of the draft law amending the electoral deadlines before the legislative session today, Rifai expected "to discuss the draft in future sessions."
