Violence continues to reign over the Palestinian camp of Ayn el Helwe, with rockets and gunfire heard across the camp, according to a report by NNA correspondent on Monday.
The clashes were primarily between the joint Palestinian force and Fatah Movement on one side and Bilal Bader Group on the other side.
Nighttime was equally restless for the camp, as the number of those killed soared to six, and another thirty-five people were wounded.
Homes, shops and other property sustained major damage. Schools, universities and other institutes in the city of Sidon remained closed as the army cut-off the road parallel to the camp to save citizens from stray bullets.
NNA correspondent noted that the initiative of the Islamic Forces was not well received by Fatah Movement. The Islamic Forces suggested that Bilal Bader accepted the deployment of the joint Palestinian force in the entire camp, and then he would be considered a wanted man who could disappear into hiding. Fatah Movement, on the other hand, wanted to make a lesson out of Bilal Bader to anyone who would even consider trespassing over Palestinian consensus and causing tension within the camp.
