King Abdullah II of Jordan on Monday received Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, and discussed with him the strategic ties between Jordan and the Russian Federation and the latest developments in the Middle East region.
According to the Jordan News Agency, during the meeting, King Abdullah and Lavrov emphasised the importance of promoting bilateral ties in political, military and economic spheres.
The talks focused on Syria on stressed the need to find a political solution to the Syrian crisis. They also tackled the ceasefire in southwest Syria, which was reached between Jordan, the U.S. and Russia.
The meeting also dealt with new efforts to push the peace process between the Palestinians and the Israelis forward, in addition to finding political solutions to the crises facing the region.
