A Jordanian man died after setting himself on fire on Thursday morning in apparent despair over having been fired from his job last week, police and a colleague said. The 31-year-old man, identified only as Musaab, had been sacked by the Jordanian Central Electricity Generating Co. He “set himself on fire this morning outside the firm's headquarters in the Khalda area in western Amman,” police spokesman Mohammad Khatib told AFP. One of the man’s former co-workers said “he had a fight with his boss a while ago. Ten days ago, the company terminated his contract. He tried to convince the management to return to work, but he failed and killed himself today.”
