King Abdullah II of Jordan on Thursday met with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal, who is currently visiting Amman. Discussions during the meeting dealt with the strong bilateral ties as well as a number of Arab and regional issues of common concern. The King commended the distinguished Jordanian-Saudi relations as a model for the joint Arab action, stressing keenness on promoting them to serve the joint interests of both countries, Jordan Petra news agency. He also outlined efforts to realize a just and comprehensive peace in the region to fulfill aspirations of the Palestinians for an independent state based on the two-state solution. King Abdullah also stressed that the Palestinian cause is the core issue in the region. The meeting also dealt with the situation in Syria and its dangerous consequences on the neighboring countries, which host thousands of Syrian refugees.
