The judge who was lately arrested for drug possession was referred to the Suez Criminal Court on Wednesday.
General Attorney of Suez Prosecutions counselor Ahmed Azzel Din decided to refer the judge, known in the media as Hashish judge, his girlfriend and his driver to the court.
The judge was found in possession of 68 kilograms of hashish (cannabis extract) while examining his car at the Ahmed Hamdy tunnel which connects the eastern and the western banks of the Suez Canal.
Justice Minister Hossam Abdel Rahim accepted the resignation of the judge following the incident.
