Kataeb Party categorically deplored all sorts of violence and expressed solidarity with the families of fallen martyrs and the wounded in the terrorist Istanbul attack, deeming the national solidarity demonstrated on the local arena a resistance in the face of terrorism in all its forms.
Kataeb Party's fresh words on Tuesday came in a statement issued in the wake of its politburo weekly meeting under the chairmanship of Party Vice Head, Joseph Abu Khalil.
The Party called on the State to protect personal feelings from the practice of 'moral violence' by some bloggers and prevent the killing of martyrs and the wounded once again.
On the other hand, Kataeb expressed astonishment regarding the failure to deal with the election law as a priority, warning against the expiry of the electoral deadline. The Party considered any delinquency in the passing of the new electoral law places the country in front of two ghastly options, either the rejected 60 law or the third mandate extension.
"This is considered a new slaughter of democracy," statement said.
On the impending oil and gas decrees listed on the agenda of the Cabinet, the Party said it is following up the course of this subject and calls for absolute transparency in this regard, through the adoption of two indispensable tracks: the right to access to information and Lebanon's accession to the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative "EITI" which puts a limit to corruption and influence.
