The Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan Humanitarian and Scientific Foundation is carrying out several humanitarian projects, including the Ramadan iftar project, distribution of food parcels and dates, in the Yemeni Governorate of Socotra.
Ibrahim Al Abdullah, Director of Humanitarian and Financial Affairs at the Foundation, said that the annual Ramadan food project was launched in Socotra in the presence of a number of senior officials.
He noted that the project benefits many needy families in various areas of the Archipelago as it helps them get food during this Holy Month. Al Abdullah added that the Foundation is keen to reach out to different areas and villages of Socotra and its islands to alleviate the suffering of people.
Raed Al Jerayi, Under-Secretary of the Governorate of Socotra for Islands Affairs, stressed the importance of the project for helping the needy in Ramadan. He said that the Foundation is one of the leading institutions carrying out humanitarian work in the Governorate. He referred to its projects, which include numerous relief works in Socotra and its affiliated islands, the distribution of seedlings and enhancement of irrigation networks.
