The State of Kuwait has strongly condemned the "heinous" crime committed by the Syrian government forces in the town of Houla in Homs that killed and injured many people, mostly women and children. Kuwait " condemns the excessive use of force by the Syrian regime against unarmed people," a foreign ministry source said in a brief statement to Kuwait news agency "KUNA". As rotating president of the Arab League Council, said the source, Kuwait started contacting regional and international parties, as well as urging the international community to live up to its responsibility towards stopping bloodshed in Syria, and providing security for the Syrian people. The State of Kuwait, added the source, would also contact its Arab League partners to hold an urgent ministerial meeting to discuss how to put an end to the "practices of oppression against the Syrian people"
