A group of Lebanese men have accused Syrian authorities of using old video filmed in Lebanon to back up claims that they are fighting terrorists in Syria. Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Al-Moallem on Monday showed journalists in Damascus gruesome images of charred bodies and bearded gunmen that he said was filmed during the ongoing unrest in Syria. But a group of seven Lebanese men claimed Tuesday that a segment of the video was filmed during sectarian clashes in northern Lebanon in 2008 — and that they appear in it. The men held a news conference and took journalists to the spot where the footage was allegedly filmed. They added it was proof of the Syrian regime’s “lies and fabrications.” There was no immediate comment from Syrian officials on the claims.
