Lebanese President Michel Suleiman returned here today after a six-day official visit to Australia. Suleiman said the Australian authorities listened for the first time to Lebanon's view on the Palestinian issue, what happens to Christians particularly in Jerusalem and the Lebanese stance towards the Arab spring. The Lebanese President said he was keen to explain to the Australian side the Lebanese issue and told them than any peaceful settlement in the Middle East should not be at the expense of Lebanon, especially its serious dimension of settling Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, noting that such keenness stemmed from Australia preparation for becoming a non-permanent member of the United Nations.
