Beirut - Arab Today

MP Walid Khoury deemed Sunday that "there are certain Saudi demands which Lebanon cannot meet," adding, "a regional settlement is needed to find a solution, but if the settlement ceiling is to exclude Hezbollah, considering it a terrorist, then it is out of the question."

Speaking in an interview to "Voice of Lebanon" Radio Channel, Khoury said, "There are many proposed scenarios following Hariri's move, in addition to impossible conditions which cannot be imposed on Lebanon, especially the self-distancing policy, which is difficult to understand in light of the Iranian-Saudi tog-of-war."

"We are awaiting the return of PM Saad Hariri to discuss the issue of his resignation," added Khoury, pointing out that "President Michel Aoun's position has laid the foundation for unity in the country, which has been evident both internally and externally."

Khoury stressed on the need to hold the parliamentary elections on time, which will re-shape balances between blocs
