Lebanese Prime Minister Tammam Salam underlined Tuesday that Lebanon "needs a national alert and not a sectarian one".
The Prime Minister said that Al-Qaa attack was not a surprise as the Lebanese Army and that security apparatuses were expecting terrorist acts, Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA) reported. "The nature of the bombings and the number of suicide bombers may be new and different in the confrontation of terrorism. Terrorism does not differentiate between regions and sects. Today terrorists are targeting a Christian area and yesterday they have targeted areas of other sects," he confirmed.
The Lebanese Cabinet convened earlier Tuesday an exceptional session to discuss the security file which imposes itself as a priority after the recent explosions of Al-Qaa border village. The meeting had kicked off with a moment of silence for the victims of the attacks that killed five people and wounded at least 23.
