Al-Wasat Party leader Abul Alaa Madi denied on Wednesday the existence of any differences between the presidency and the army. He also said that alleged "Brotherhoodization" of the military was impossible. Madi said, in an interview with al-Arabiya television, he has recently met with several army commanders who rebuffed allegations of differences with the presidency. "They stressed their support to the legitimacy of the elected president," he said. Madi expected parliamentary elections to be held in October. He also foresaw that his party to have more seats in these elections. He stressed that his party is independent party and what some see as rapprochement with the Muslim Brotherhood only serves the country's high interests.
