The commander in chief of the armed forces, Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki instructed security forces to transport the voters to the polling stations. Iraqiya television reported that "the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Nouri al-Maliki instructed the security forces to use their wheels to transport voters, especially of the inhabitants of remote areas to the polling stations." It is mentioned that the provincial elections will be held with the exception of the provinces of Kirkuk, Anbar, Nineveh, Arbil, Sulaymaniyah and Dohuk.
