H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain, has said that the initiative launched by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to celebrate Commemoration Day on 30th November every year, has translated the meanings of respect and appreciation to the martyrs of the nation and their families.
Sheikh Saud added that national cohesion represents the true meaning of unification and effective participation in building the nation, preserving its gains and strengthening its social fabric as well as the culture of loyalty instilled by the founding fathers in the spirits of successors as they represent the first strategic goal in the union.
In a speech to Dira’a Al Watan, The Nation Shield, magazine on the occasion of Commemoration Day, H.H. Sheikh Saud said, "It is a pride for us to witness the honouring of martyrs of the homeland in recognition and appreciation of their sacrifices and acts of patriotism, as they represent an immortal example of national unity and belonging. They also translate the strong will and determination of our Armed Forces servicemen.
"The initiative launched by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to celebrate Commemoration Day on 30th November every year, has translated the meanings of respect and appreciation to the martyrs of the nation and their families and also represents a historic milestone from which we glean all the meanings of loyalty, sacrifice and preserving national gains."
The UAQ Ruler added, "The national will and cohesion between the leadership and Emiratis represent the true meaning of unification and effective participation in building the nation, preserving its gains and strengthening its social fabric as well as the culture of loyalty instilled by the founding fathers in the spirits of successors as they represent the first strategic goal in the union. This approach focuses on building human resources and developing capabilities and national culture to be able to hold leadership responsibilities, educating their sons and daughters on patriotism values to address challenges."
He also reiterated that the nation's Armed Forces members represent an exceptional model of sacrifices to promote the homeland and defend its achievements and principles, to enhance security and stability in accordance with the vision of the leadership to achieve national goals.
He continued, "Today, the leadership, government and all Emiratis are proud of the martyrs of the nation and their sacrifices. We also express our pride in their families who represent a national role model that enhances the values of genuine citizenship and the meanings of sacrifices made by members of the Armed Forces while defending the homeland."
Sheikh Saud also prayed to Allah Almighty to rest their souls in Paradise and to grant solace and patience to their families.
