The mortal remains of the former national cause activist during the Liberation War (1954-1962), Professor Pierre Chaulet, arrived Monday at the Algiers international airport aboard Air Algerie flight from Marseille. Large crowds, including ministers, political personalities and friends were present there to pay tribute to the memory of Pr Pierre Chaulet, who died Friday at the age of 82 in Montpellier (southern France) after a long illness. Three members of current Government, former ministers, including former Prime Minister Reda Malek, former Foreign Minister Lakhdar Brahimi and former archbishop of Algiers Henri Teissier, as well as political figures were also present. The mortal remains, draped in national flag, were carried by Civil Defence officers.
