Reports of a hunger strike at an Omani prison are untrue, according to a statement made online by the Royal Oman Police (ROP).
An ROP official has stated that there is no hunger strike at a prison in Rustaq, in a bid to quash rumours being spread. The announcement was made through the ROP Twitter page, stating, “A Royal Oman Police official denies the occurrence of hunger strike in the Rustaq prison police station, saying that what is being circulated is unfounded.”
