The Dubai Foundation for Women and Children, DFWAC, has recently received a delegation from Noor Bank to learn more about the foundation's efforts in the protection and care of victims of violence and human trafficking and to discuss ways of cooperation between the two sides.
Afra Al Basti, Director-General of the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children, a member of the Federal National Council, received the delegation headed by Sami Al Awadi, Chief Compliance Officer.
During the visit, the delegation presented a donation to support the foundation's efforts. It also reviewed the most important psychological rehabilitation programmes in the Department of Welfare and Social Services for victims of violence, how to receive reports via the 800111 helpline, and receiving cases and the type of services provided for them.
Afra Al Basti accompanied the delegation on a tour that included the children's villa, the housing for victims of violence, human trafficking, vocational rehabilitation workshops, the helpline centre and other main facilities.
DFWAC’ officials praised Noor bank’s commitment and keenness to support community issues, including violence against women and children, stressing that the support of the banking sector in the UAE for such causes in a continuous manner will contribute significantly to strengthening the stability of the society.
The delegation praised the efforts made by the foundation in pursuing its objectives expressing the bank’s keenness to support humanitarian and charitable institutions as part of its strategy in accordance with the vision of the wise leadership for the necessity of co-operation and concerted efforts of various parties to achieve excellence in the interest of the UAE community.
The meeting was attended by Jawahar Al Dossari, Director of the Finance and Partnerships Office at the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children, and Amjad Nasser, Head of Sharia Law at Noor Bank and a number of bank employees.
