The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has welcomed Paraguay's decision to withdraw its embassy from Occupied Jerusalem (Al-Quds), considering this as an affirmation of its respect for its legal and political obligations under the international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.
OIC Secretary-General, Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen, said that this step is in the right direction, stressing the illegality of any actions that would prejudice the historical and legal status of the city of Al-Quds, calling at the same time on all countries to adopt positions and actions that support the chances of achieving peace based on the vision of a two- state solution and promote stability in the region.
In a related context, OIC condemned the decision of the Israeli Supreme Court to evacuate and demolish the bedouin village of "Al-Khan Al-Ahmar" in the east of Jerusalem (Al-Quds), Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
