The Vehicles and Drivers’ Licensing Department at Sharjah Police plans to discontinue drivers' licence transactions at service centres and transfer them to an online system starting 1st October, 2017.
Sharjah Police will provide smart traffic services, such as issuing new drivers' licences, renewing drivers' licences, and issuing replacement licences, through the Ministry of Interior’s smartphone service.
Colonel Ali Bualzod, Director of the Vehicles and Drivers’ Licensing Department said, "These online services aim to save time and effort for customers, in line with the priorities of the UAE government in activating and implementing smart services."
He pointed out that after the completion of online transactions, drivers' licences will be sent online and delivered within 48 hours of receiving the request.
