The election campaign in Tunisia started on Saturday throughout many cities with candidates from scores of political parties. Tunisians are indeed going to elect next October 23 members of the Constituent Assembly that will rewrite the country's constitution. Nearly 11 000 candidates will contest 218 seats in the assembly. Here are the parties that started campaigning on Saturday afternoon : * The Republican Alliance Party in Nabeul * The Movement of Democrat Patriots (MPD)in Tunis * The National Alliance for Peace and Prosperity in Sfax * The Modernist Democratic Pole in Tunis * The Communist Workers' Party PCOT in Tunis * The Party of Culture and Labour in Tunis * The Congress for the Republic in Médenine * Abdelfatteh Mourou for the "Independent Democratic Alliance" in Jerba * "Ennahdha" movement in Sidi Bouzid * ''Party of Independence ''on Sunday in Manouba
