President of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) Maria Khouri received a delegation from Bahrain Federation for the Disabled, led by Fethi Abdulrahman Matar. The meeting was attended by NIHR Vice President Abdullah Al Derazi, Head of the Economic, Social and Cultural Committee Dr. Aisha Mubarak and member of the committee Hamid Hussain.
NIHR President hailed the delegation’s visit, lauding the efforts of the federation’s Board of Directors to achieve its humanitarian goals. She underlined NIHR’s constant support to all programmes implemented by the federation to promote the rights of the disabled. She also pointed out the need to adopt a national strategy in this regard and discussed the conditions of the handicapped and ways of optimising services for them in coordination with competent parties.
The delegation praised the efforts of NIHR to support programmes serving the handicapped and catering for their needs, expressing keenness on more cooperation with the institution in all fields.
