The Sharjah Tatweer Forum organised a youth session titled, "Motivation for Private Sector Work," at the Expo Centre Sharjah on 16th October.

The circle was held in collaboration with the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, SCCI, and the Emirates Youth Council, EYC.

Sheikha Aisha Khalid Al Qasimi, Director of Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah, SYL; Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce; Khalifa AlJaziri, Director of E-Home Automation, and Naema Abdullah, Human Resources Manager at Strata, joined the circle.

Jassem Al Bloushi, Chairman of the Sharjah Tatweer Forum, asserted, "The circle is part of a series of events organised by the Emirates Youth Council, chaired by Shamma Al Mazroui, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, with the aim of achieving the vision of the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators.

"The foundation was intended to stimulate young people and develop their skills and roles in the community. In addition, it proposed to motivate the youth’s efforts and investments, which may benefit the emirate of Sharjah and the UAE, in general. The session aimed to identify the views of young people and determine their roles in achieving the UAE Vision 2021."

The circle, which was attended by over 30 participants between the ages of 18 and 30, saw a series of discussions that emphasised important topics such as the efforts made to prepare national talents for the private sector job market, job security, as well as the challenges faced due to cultural values, upbringing, and social class.

Furthermore, the reasons behind the reluctance of the national workforce to engage in the private sector, the benefits that should be available, the solutions that could be implemented, and the supporting laws and regulations were also explored.

The topics were discussed in line with the prudent leadership’s visions and ambitions, discussing which factors could present the private sector as a more attractive and appealing environment, in order to retain national graduates. The session concluded with a set of recommendations and solutions, with respect to how the participants could determine their positions in achieving the UAE Vision 2021.

Supporting innovation and creativity, the circle aimed to discover and become aware of the challenges faced by a large multiplicity of nationals, and understand their concerns, in order to reform and reshape their perceptions of the private sector.
