The swimming competition of the 5th edition of the Sheikha Hind Women's Sports Tournament will take place at the swimming pool of Al-Wasl Sports Club on Friday, 17th November, with the participation of 62 female Emirati and resident swimmers.

About 40 female swimmers from the UAE are participating in the competition.

The 5th edition of the Sheikha Hind Women's Sports Tournament, the greatest of its kind, is being organised by the Dubai Sports Council from 9th to 25th November, 2017, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Hind Bint Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum, wife of UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. It is being contested by 685 female athletes of multi-nationalities, representing 32 corporations a 20 percent increase in participation from the last edition.

Athletes will engage in tough competitions in 10 games: basketball, volleyball, handball, swimming, cycling, road race, chess, badminton and bowling, in addition to table tennis, which has been recently introduced to the various competitions of the tournament.

Organisers said the tournament has added new categories for local females in swimming, cycling, road race, and chess competitions to give them balanced opportunities to join competitions.
