Prime Minister Mohammed Salem Basindwa on Sunday launched the national campaign to preserve the Old City of Sana'a, organized by the Culture Ministry and the Capital Sana'a. In his speech, the Prime Minister lauded the campaign, stressing the importance of rallying all efforts to maintain the Old City of Sana'a, which has a great historical value. "We have to maintain the Old City and prevent any distortions threaten its history and architectural style." The Premier directed the Social Fund for Development (SFD) to help the important national campaign, calling on all parties, the private sector and citizens to interact effectively with. He stressed the need to preserve all the historic cities of Yemen, topped by the cities of Zabid and Shibam, pointing out that Yemen during the previous events has managed to maintain its historical monuments from being tampered or ruined.
