The Main Committee of the Sultan Qaboos Craft Excel Competition today held a meeting under the chair of Sheikha Aisha bint Khalfan al-Siyabiyah, Chairperson of the Public Authority for Craft Industries (PACI). The meeting discussed, determined and selected winners in craft product and craft projects in different governorates of the Sultanate, in addition to reviewing the preparations for winners-rewarding ceremony, which will be held on March 3rd, in concordance with the Sultanate's celebration of the Omani Craft day. PACI is keen on developing the competition level as far as preparation and organization are concerned, in addition to providing the highest level of transparency, credibility and neutrality to match the honour the competition as it holds the name of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, the fact, which reflects the Royal Attention of His Majesty the Sultan accorded to the cultural and national value of craft industry products and affirms the sublime care of His Majesty to Omani craftsmen to stimulate their capabilities and erupt their creative potentials for the sake of excellence in craft production and developing it to technical and artistic level that deserves rewarding. The Sultan Qaboos Craft Excel Competition is considered as one of the channels of craft support provided by PACI to craft sector and it is as part of the plans and programmes that aim at developing traditional craft industries in the Sultanate. Through this contest, PACI seeks to enhance competitiveness among craftsmen and owners of excellent craft projects in order to find an Omani craft product that is developed and capable of competitiveness, as well as encouraging investors in craft sector to compete in marketing craft product and training craftsmen in these projects on how to promote these products.
