Doha - QNA

The Haj Affairs Committee of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs opened up registration for the Haj season of the 1434 Hijri years. The registration is available via the committee’s website http://hajj.gov.qa The Ministry held a press conference today at its headquarters. Qatar and GCC nationals can start registering starting Monday June 24 to Ramadan 20. While residents of the State of Qatar can sign up starting tomorrow, with the deadline midway through Ramadan. Director of the Haj Committee Youssef Nasser Al Sulaiti called on those going to sign up to ensure that they provide accurate information. He added that any incomplete or inaccurate registration will be void. He added that married couple should register as one, by listing the wife as a companion. Qatari and GCC nationals are allowed two companions, while residents are allowed one. The Director of the Haj Committee said that Qatar’s quota for this year remains at its usual 1500 people despite the announcement made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to reduce the number due to maintenance work.
