RAK Courts wins Institutional Innovation Award 2017
Ras Al-Khalmah - Arab Today

The Ras al-Khaimah Courts has won the Institutional Innovation Award 2017 from the Global Knowledge Exchange Authority in the USA.

Dr. Saif Ali Al Shamili, Director-General of Ras al-Khaimah Courts, said that it provided the Global Knowledge Exchange Authority with a comprehensive file and obtained the Institutional Innovation Award, which is the main award the prominent international authority presented.

He added that the Global Knowledge Exchange Authority is a non-profit academic institution, established in 2000 in the US as a melting-pot for innovative ideas in the 21st century. The institution consists of a group of universities, institutes, research centres and professional academic organisations from many countries such as the US, China, South Korea, Taiwan and other countries. The membership of the authority has reached 70 universities and academic institutions.

"The authority encourages the exchange of experience and knowledge among its members, and promotes the best international experience in the field of innovation," he further added.

Al Shamili explained that Ras al-Khaimah Courts was keen to implement innovative initiatives that contribute to facilitating public services, under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras al-Khaimah and Chairman of the Justice Council.

The winning organisations are chosen from nominations received by the Global Knowledge Exchange Authority. Its committees then draft and file reports on each nominated individual or institution, which are then submitted to its selection committee that makes its decisions according to specific criteria for each category, with the common denominator being contributions to sustainable development.
