The Giza Criminal Court decided on Tuesday to suspended the re-trial of Muslim Brotherhood leader Mohamed Badei and seven other MB leaders until taking a decision in a filed lawsuit urging the withdrawal of the court's body concerning the case of Giza's Al Bahr Al Azam violent clashes.
The Court of Cassation overturned the rulings of the Cairo Criminal Court that sentenced the defendants to death and life imprisonment and ruled the re-trail of the eight defendants.
MB leading figures Essam El Erian, Mohamed El Beltagy, Safwat Hegazy, and others are accused of inciting violence and terrorism, murder, forming a gang to attack citizens and supplying it with arms and funds.'
Five people were killed and another 100 injured in the Al Bahr Al Azam area of Giza and near Cairo University during gunfights armed protests staged by pro-Morsi protesters on July 15, 2013.
