Under the patronage of the Speaker, Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla, the Council of Representatives will tomorrow host a conference themed “Human Rights between Reality and Ambition.”
Organised by the Representatives Council’s Human Rights Committee in cooperation with its Secretariat-General, the event will be held marking the the Human Rights Day, which falls on December 10.
Representatives and Shura councils’ members, government officials, heads of diplomatic missions, officials, as well as researchers and specialists from official and non-governmental human rights organisations and societies will take part in the conference.
The conference will feature a number of plenary sessions on international human rights standards, and the roles of Legislature, the Executive, human rights organisations and the civil society in protecting and promoting human rights.
The event will also discuss several issues pertaining to international human rights principles, human rights within the Arab world, Bahrain’s human rights achievements and human rights from the perspective of the Legislative Branch.
