Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, visited Abu Dhabi Digital Government’s pavilion at GITEX 2017 that witnessed the participation of 25 government entities.
Dr. Roudha Al-Saadi, Acting Director-General at the Abu Dhabi Systems & Information Centre (ADSIC), the government entity in charge of Abu Dhabi’s ICT agenda and operational framework, along with other ADSIC officials, accompanied H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed on his tour of the pavilion.
Sheikh Saif viewed the latest apps and software by the 25 government entities that aim to make life in the Emirate more convenient, safer and increasingly business-friendly for residents and citizens alike. H.H. also evaluated the sophisticated e-gateways by the government entities to provide the latest in ICT services in line with the UAE’s leadership’s vision to build a knowledge-based economy.
During the fourth day of the vibrant exhibition, ADSIC showcased the first phase of the "Whole of Government Project" which centres on enabling government entities in Abu Dhabi to provide efficient integrated services by exchanging documents of individuals and companies digitally, and through secure channels that transform these documents from paper to digital data to enhance the customer experience of all users and speed up the process of completing official documentation.
The launch of the Whole of Government Project aims to further boost the integration, performance and overall output of government services in line with the Abu Dhabi Vision 2030, and efforts to build a robust and technologically-reliant government that offers high-quality, reliable and added-value services to individual users and government entities, across multiple fields and specializations.
The first phase will contribute to simplifying the procedures of 500 government services, which provide 5 million transactions annually. A total of 80,000 working days have been provided for government employees and 6.7 million visits to clients. The initiative also includes an important environmental aspect where carbon dioxide emissions will be reduced by 50,000 tons per year and paper use reduced to 38 million sheets per year.
