Saudi Arabian dignitaries gathered in Al-Safa palace in Makkah early on Thursday to give their allegiance to the country’s new crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman.
In a Royal Decree on Wednesday, Prince Mohammed was named as the Kingdom’s crown prince, replacing Prince Mohammed bin Naif.
Princes, ministers, religious figures and other dignitaries will give their allegiance to Prince Mohammed in a ceremony which will be carried live on Saudi national television.
In the Royal Decree, a new interior minster was appointed, ambassadors to Italy and Germany named and regional posts filled.
