Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of a fire in Sharjah's Industrial Area 6 on Friday. A fire broke out at an auto paint shop in the area on Friday afternoon, causing a thick cloud of smoke. An official said that the Forensic Laboratory at Sharjah Police will carry out an investigation within the next few days to find out what caused the fire. An official at Sharjah Civil Defence said the fire erupted at approximately 12.35pm in the auto-workshop, but it did not affect nearby factories and warehouses. No injuries or casualties were reported. "It took us around two hours to contain the fire and to ensure that the flames did not extend to the furniture factory and a plastic factory located nearby," said the Civil Defence official. The entire area was cordoned off by Anjad traffic patrols and a cooling process continued after the blaze was extinguished. From / Gulf News
