Jordan's Lower House Sunday held a session to discuss the new electoral law. The discussion witnessed a quarrel between MPs Yehia al-Saud and Jamil al-Nimri, after Nimri rejected the draft law and threatened to quit the parliament along with other 20 MPs. After the quarrel, MP Mohammed al-Zoraikat drafted a requisition signed by 30 MPs and promoted it to the House Speaker Abdelkarim al-Doghmi, demanding a ban on Saud from attending parliament sessions due to his assault against Nimri. The quarrel took place after Nimri aired his objections to the draft electoral law, Saud got close to him then screamed at his face saying "Liar!". He then caught Nimri by the neck which caused other MPs to intervene to prise the two men apart. Saud and Nimri exchanged insults before Saud's shoe was seen "flying" towards Nimri. Tension has been escalating recently between the two MPs due to Nimri's firm stance against the drafts of the legal commission in the Jordanian parliament.
