Lebanese President Michel Sleiman has said that the deployment of the Lebanese army in the North would prevent any Syrian military incursions in Lebanon. "As long as the Lebanese army is deployed there won’t be any Syrian military activities in North Lebanon," "As-Safir" newspaper quoted on Friday Sleiman as saying during his official visit to France. He also said that Lebanon did not run the risk of being embroiled in a new civil war as a result of the Syrian crisis. Regarding the issue of Syrian refugees in Lebanon, Sleiman said that he informed the French officails of the difficulties faced by Lebanon in providing the necessary support for the refugees as well as the necessity of providing Lebanon with the required help, the Lebanese daily reported.
