The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, GDRFA, in Dubai has launched breast cancer awareness initiative.
As part of the initiative the "Smart Gates" at Dubai International Airport were illuminated pink to mark the annual Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
The gates were illuminated to encourage community members to conduct regular self-examination, and giving hope to patients and conveying the message that the disease can be overcome.
Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director-General of the GDRFA Dubai said, "We are keen to participate in various events and community initiatives, and we have illuminated the smart gates at Dubai International Airport to convey our message of awareness through the most modern transportation hub and world’s busiest airport."
