Tamkeen Chairman Shaikh Mohammed bin Essa Al Khalifa said that Tamkeen’s Annual Consultation Forum is an essential platform of communication with the different sectors to further discuss visions and thoughts aimed at improving the development process of Tamkeen’s programs and initiatives.
Shaikh Mohammed pointed out, during Tamkeen’s 2018-2020 Strategy Consultation Forum, that "Tamkeen is keen on introducing new products and services to better cater to evolving market needs".
Tamkeen’s annual Forum was held yesterday, Thursday, 14th December 2017, and was attended by more than 500 participants representing the different economic sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
As part of its objectives, the Consultation Forum aimed at highlighting the key milestones achieved during the 2015-2017 Strategy cycle, paving the way for the introduction of the 2018-2020 Strategy with new key focus of devising sustainable solutions that will remain relevant in tomorrow’s economy.
Tamkeen’s Chief Executive Dr. Ebrahim Mohamed Janahi stressed during a press conference held at the sidelines of Forum that this Consultation Forum marks a new chapter of Tamkeen’s works, and the engagement of Tamkeen’s stakeholders from individuals representing the different concerned sectors as well as enterprises, provides a valuable opportunity for better communication and implementation of our new strategy.
"The new Strategy was developed to focus on key factors of positive economic transformation, including diversification of offerings, acceleration of delivery, and sustainability of impact," Dr Janahi explained.
He said that the development of the Strategy looked into the results of a number of researches and studies aimed at assessing the status of labor market and ways to address its specific needs and gaps.
"As part of the research, there were periodical meetings and focus groups with our stakeholders and surveys conducted to help ensure proper visualization of the new Strategy development," he added.
Highlighting Tamkeen’s key achievements, Janahi said: "Since its establishment, Tamkeen served more than 165 thousand individuals and enterprises and launched more than 210 initiatives in different fields, of which 145 serving individuals and 65 serving enterprises."
"To cater for the growing and changing needs, we provided a variety of solutions including grants, finance solutions, and consultation services that aim to boost the productivity of individuals and enterprises," Dr Janahi emphasized.
