Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of Saint Marks Diocese slammed Wednesday all kinds of terrorism, saying that the terrorist attacks, which hit Egypt, did not and would not achieve their goals.
In an interview with MENA on the sidelines of ceremony at the Egyptian Embassy in Berlin, the Pope said the terrorist attacks, which aims at destabilizing Egypt's unity, are non-racial as they left causalities from the Christian and Islamic sides, pointing out that the history proved that Egypt can never be divided.
The ceremony was organized by Egyptian Ambassador in Berlin Badr Abdel Aati late Tuesday to mark the pontiff's pastoral visit.
Egypt is a preserved and holy country, as the holy family came to Egypt and remained for three years and six months, the Pope added.
Pope Tawadros criticized the bad role of the social media, as they affect negatively youths' minds. He asked the youth not to be deceived behind unreliable resources and read the history well.
He lauded the efforts of the Ministry of Tourism and Vatican to bless the holy family route in Egypt, adding that the route could be the largest source of profit in Egypt and it will promote the religious tourism in Egypt.
During his visit to Germany, the Pope will participate in the meeting of Patriarchs and Bishops of the Churches of the Middle East upon invitation from the German Church. The meetings will start on Saturday to review the conditions of Middle East christians in the countries facing crises.
