Three people were arrested after committing a string of alleged thefts and frauds, officials announced.
The Department of Criminal Investigation at the Suwaiq Police station arrested three people of Arab nationality in Suwaiq, for crimes of fraud and theft.
Police received the initial report from an Oman resident who works at a shop that sells mobile phones, who said that two of the suspects had visited the shop to buy two phones.
After agreeing to a price, the suspects pretended to pay for the phones, but had actually gone to their vehicle and escaped with the third suspect without paying the due amount.
An investigation led to the suspects were arrested in a hotel in Seeb, with several mobile phones and cash on their person.
After being interrogation, the individuals confessed to the charges against them, and said that they had committed a number of similar crimes in several governorates of the Sultanate.
