Minister of State for fight against corruption, Nicolas Tueni, assured, during an interview with the Voice of Lebanon - 93.3 radio station that "there is no return to the 60s law under the support of the majority of parliamentary and popular blocs to the proportionality code while taking into account the specificities of some parties; a matter that can be treated based on constituencies' sizes."
He called for overcoming sectarian equations and putting an end to social fears, stressing the need to "adopt the language of affiliation to the homeland."
"The achievement of all these things comes through the adoption of a new [electoral] law," Tueni said, warning against the "tight legal deadlines" for doing so.
In response to a question about the fight against corruption, especially in the illegal internet dossier, Tueni pointed to "the keenness of President Michel Aoun on the eradication of corruption."
