Minister of State for Combating Corruption Nicolas Tueni on Thursday described the rift between the Lebanese President and House Speaker over the officers' decree as a mere "whirlwind in a cup", ruling out any conspiratorial and intentional ploys to target a certain party.
"This entire ordeal will be over and done with this week without disrupting the government's activity," the Minister said told the Voice of Lebanon radio station, reiterating his belief that both sides of the conflict had no ill intentions.
"Things need not to spiral out of control especially that a solution is provided by the law. In the end, the right and legal stance will prevail."
As for Hezbollah's stance vis-a-vis the officers' decree, Tueni said, "The leadership of the party is aware of the right position that serves Lebanon best
