The Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development, in cooperation with the UAE Publishers Association, has organised a joint discussion session on the publication movement in the UAE and Jordan under the title, "UAE-Jordan Publishing Forum."

The forum came as part of the cultural programme held on the sidelines of the UAE’s participation as Guest of Honour at the 17th Amman International Book Fair.

The session was attended by Ali Al Shaali, Deputy Chairman of the UAE Publishers Association, Mohammed Al Matroushi, Board Member of the UAE Publishers Association and Fathi Al Bass, Head of the Jordanian Publishers Union, in the presence of a large number of publishers from both countries.

The forum discussed chances of future cooperation in the publishing industry, in addition to the exchange of experience and knowledge among publishers through the UAE Publishers Association and the Jordanian Publishers Union.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development noted that all meetings and sessions, held as part of the cultural programme held on the sidelines of the UAE’s participation at the 17th Amman International Book Fair, aims to strengthen cultural relations and cooperation between the ministry and all other cultural institutions and publishing houses around the world. The ministry also aims to fulfill its national role of supporting national content and promoting it outside the country.

"The UAE has achieved a remarkable development in various fields of the publishing sector over the past years. This has urged various publishing entities and associations, especially the UAE Publishers Association, to strive for the promotion of this development and the enhancement of the professionalism of those who work in this sector through a series of yearlong forums, sessions and meetings", said Rashid Al-Kous, Executive Director of the UAE Publishers Association.
