H.H. Sheikh Rashid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Qaiwain and Chairman of the Executive Council, said that the UAE was a leading model of youth empowerment, by preparing them to be the makers of the future and leaders of positive changes, and be the main pillars to achieve the national goals.
Sheikh Rashid visited the Youth Centre in Emirates Towers, with a delegation that included Sheikh Saif bin Rashid Al Mualla, Chairman of the Department of Economic Development, Sheikh Ali bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Chairman of the Municipality Department, Humaid Rashid Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Executive Council, Mansour Sultan Al Kharji, Director-General of the Department of Economic Development, and Eng. Khaled Sultan Al Shamsi, Director-General of the Department of eGovernment in the emirate.
"Thanks to the empowerment efforts made by the UAE leadership, the youth have succeeded in becoming ministers and ambassadors, who are delivering the UAE’s message to the world, as well as leaders of big institutions in the government and private sectors. We are proud of them and their exceptional accomplishments in all fields," he remarked.
Sheikh Rashid praised the effective participation and exceptional presence of the youth in all events, and their innovative ideas, which contributed in forming new futuristic concepts for work in all sectors, as per the developments being witnessed in the world, as well as their aspirations and ambitions. He valued the efforts of the youth in establishing the Youth Centre, which is considered an international model for such centres.
Sheikh Rashid viewed the services offered by the Centre and the space dedicated to young media professionals, youth entrepreneurs, researchers and programmers. He inspected the solutions innovation laboratories housed in the Centre and listened to an explanation about the annual agenda of the centre, its activities and programmes.
The Youth Centre, which was conceived and designed by youth below 30, has halls for their meetings, space to house their projects, a library to develop their knowledge, as well as a theatre, painting studio, and a studio for their creative productions.
The Centre offers classes and workshops on various life skills, space to house the projects of youth entrepreneurs, offices for the youth, as well as opportunities for volunteering and training, and a laboratory for solutions innovation. The Centre also conducts brainstorming sessions, besides housing a youth café, a platform and a theatre for the activities of the youth.
