Four schools in the Shabwa Governorate in Yemen re-opened yesterday following their restoration and renovation by the Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, as part of the organisation's ongoing projects to rebuild vital infrastructure and facilities in the country, especially in the education and health sectors.
The schools are Azzan Secondary School for Boys, Azzan Primary School for Boys and Girls, and Hafsa Primary School.
Mohammed Saif Al Muhairi, Head of the ERC in Shabwa, said that as a priority, the ERC is focusing its efforts on improving educational facilities in districts all across Yemen to provide a suitable learning environment for students. He added that a number of similar health and education development projects are currently underway in the province.
Education officials in Shabwa expressed their appreciation for the ERC's efforts and the UAE for its humanitarian role in alleviating the suffering of the people of Shabwa.
