A 55-year-old Bahraini woman died after Al Khalifa regime's security forces used tear gas to disperse protesters during an anti-regime rally in the Northeastern town of Sitra. Fakhria Jassim died on Tuesday, two days after inhaling poisonous tear gas fired by regime forces during the funeral procession of a 15-year-old protester who was killed by the regime forces on Saturday. Bahrainis will hold a funeral ceremony on Thursday for Jassim who came from Isa Town in the north of the country. Jassim was the third victim of the regime's violent crackdown on demonstrations since late November 2011. According to the main Bahraini opposition group al-Wefaq, 15-year-old Sayyed Hashem Saeed was also "hit in the head" and killed by regime forces in the northeastern town of Sitra in late December 2011. On November 19, Ali al-Badah, 16, died after being run over by a police vehicle during an anti-regime protest in Juffair village, near Manama. The clash on Sitra marks the latest burst of violence in more than 10 months of confrontations and widespread street protests on the strategic Persian Gulf island nation, which is home to the US Navy's 5th Fleet. The nation is demanding ouster of the Al-Khalifa monarchy. On Sunday a resident in Sitra said the police attacked the mourners during the funeral, using rubber bullets, tear gas and stun grenades. Confrontations between security forces and protesters take place almost on a daily basis. More than 40 people have been killed and over 1600 others have been arrested since the uprising started in February last year.
